After reading tons and tons of material on the internet and going through hundreds of blogs, telling me an SLR is really better at taking drool worthy food photographs, I was a tad disappointed with my point and shoot, a very GOOD point and shoot. So I decided to set up lights and styling as described in those blogs and try my hand at replicating the SLR effect. I came pretty close and I am really happy with the results. You be the judge. What do you think?? Enjoy!

Thanks Bobbie..
Nice! I would have preferred a white background though π
Thanks praveen, somehow i am not that inclined to shoot on pristine white backgrounds.. not sure why..
DSLRs do have slighter better “engineering/ optics” than P&Ss but that doesn’t mean you cannot get excellent pictures with P&Ss. Its about understanding light, basic photography principles and your camera that really matters and not so much the type of camera.
You are going in the right direction, as I’m sure you can see from your photographs. π
Thank you Aparna, I really appreciate your feedback.
nice clicks.. put up some more posts like this and also put some info on how and where u set up the lighting.. π
it will save me all the reading and i will just read your posts:)
loved your tomato soup recipe!
Thanks Richa, I am really a novice in this area. Will try to add notes where ever possible on how i set it up.
